Welcome to the Historic Rio Grande Theatre!
In almost constant operation as a cinema house for over 70 years, the Rio Grande Theatre is the performance venue and home of the Dona Ana Arts Council since it was renovated and reopened in 2005. Completely refurbished as a 422-seat, state-of-the-art performing arts facility in the heart of downtown Las Cruces, it is used for DAAC-sponsored events, and is rented by other groups for performances.

Among the many performers and artists who have graced her stage are popular entertainer George Winston, Moscow Ballet, and piano virtuoso Xiayin Wang. Film series, literary events, Every Other Tuesday free performances, and special lectures are also a regular occurrence at the Rio Grande Theatre.
The only remaining two-story adobe theatre in the country, the Rio Grande Theatre is once again a focal point of history as the jewel in the crown of downtown Las Cruces’ revitalization.
